The Glamis Sand Dunes host thousands of people each year who ride the dunes in their customized dune buggies and all-terrain vehicles. The weekday visitors are few, however, on some weekends the population of the dunes can swell to over 50,000 enthusiasts. The Barbara Worth Golf Resort has hosted dune lovers, movie stars, film crews, photographers and countless others who visit specifically for the Glamis Sand Dune experience.

The mid February festival continues to offer core tours to the areas that make the Salton Sea one of the world’s top birding spots. For beginning birders, we have added a “Birding for Beginners” seminar early in the festival. We have also added a parent/child birding tour to pique the interest of our younger birders. For advanced birders we have added exclusive target tours to spot the “rarities” missing from your life list. For all we have added specialty tours on the last day of the Festival that focus on special bird groups (e.g. raptors, rarities) and ecosystems (e.g. desert, Colorado River). Each year to minimize scheduling conflicts; all tours (except Sunset Tours) depart in the morning with seminars conducted in the afternoon.
